About US:

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China (SwedCham) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization representing Swedish businesses and decision-makers in China. Established in 1998, we currently have around 200+ members and partners. SwedCham organizes a wide range of events, including seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities, fostering connections within the Swedish business community in China. 

 

We also collaborate with Team Sweden, which includes the Embassy of Sweden, the Consulate General in Shanghai, Business Sweden, and Visit Sweden, to strengthen the Swedish community in China

 

Your Role:

 

Join us as a Communication and Admin Intern and immerse yourself in the dynamic operations of an international Chamber of Commerce. This internship offers a unique opportunity and valuable experience to engage with the Swedish business community in China through event planning and marketing initiatives.

 

2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Sweden, you will be actively involved in interesting projects and other signature events during your internship with the Swecham China. Your contribution matters!

 

As a Communication & Admin Intern, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage SwedCham’s social media accounts, primarily focusing on WeChat (including the video channel) , website maintenance, Weibo and our official LinkedIn page.
  • Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, press releases, and articles. Being proactive for event promotion, like sechdeule email campagins for upcoming events to targeted groups. 
  • Design marketing materials,      including event posters, flyers, and web banners.
  • Have the opportunity to take the ownership of event organizing from planing to executing events.
  • Collaborate with member companies to enhance event activities and support Beijing events on site.
  • Take meeting minutes and translate documents as required.
  • Provide daily office support and assist with administrative tasks. 

 

Our Expectations:

We are looking for someone who is proactive, creative, and passionate about communication, marketing, and Swedish/Nordic culture. You’ll be expected to manage projects independently while being an adaptable team player.


 

The intern in Beijing will work closely together with Communication and Adm intern in Shanghai office on a daily basis. Managing and upgrading the official Wechat account is the one of the main tasks for this role, so we are targeting for an intern who is famiair with Wechat platforms and tools.  Please aware that you might requried to support in early mornings and late evenings as we have a few events/trainings held in early mornings and late evennings. The team will adjust working hours accordinly.

 

Requirements:

  • Internship Duration: 6 months to 1 year (immediate start preferred).
  • Fluency in Chinese and English is required; proficiency in Swedish is a plus.
  • Educational background in Communication, Marketing, Business, Economics, or related fields.
  • Strong writing skills, knowledge of social media, and a passion for digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with design tools, video editing, or photography is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a legal right to intern in China.
  • Chinese citizens (students or professionals).
  • Foreign nationals enrolled at a Chinese university with an internship permit.
  • Swedish students in China with the legal right to intern.
  • For Foreign nationals, Internship visa in China should be handled by intern.

  • Full-time role: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • A symbolic paid internship with a flexible work schedule (occasional business travel may be required).

  • Interns are required to have valid insurance during the internship period and the intern should take care of his/her own housing costs in Beijing.
