The Chinese Language & Business Experience Program, initiated by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China (SwedCham China), offers Swedish students a unique opportunity to combine Mandarin language learning with hands-on business experience in Shanghai, one of the world’s most exciting economic centers.

 

Why Join This Program?

·       You will study Mandarin and Chinese culture full-time at East China Normal University (ECNU), one of Shanghai’s top universities.

·       You will gain hands-on business experience through a mandatory off-campus training period at SwedCham China, fully integrated with your studies while remaining enrolled as a student.

·       You will take part in executive-level business events and exclusive networking opportunities with professionals across various industries.

·       You will grow your professional network in China and the broader Asian business community.

 

Program Overview

·       Location: Shanghai, China

·       Language Course at ECNU: September 15 – October 17, 2025  (Monday–Friday, 08:30–15:45)

·       Business Experience at SwedCham China: Begins October 20, 2025  Duration: Minimum 3 months and Maximum 12 months

·       Suggested Arrival: September 8 or 9, 2025

·       Language Course Tuition: €1500 (approx. 12,000 RMB, paid directly to ECNU)

 

What You’ll Do

·       Chinese language & culture course at ECNU

·       Gain first-hand insight into business practices and professional life in Shanghai

·       Collaborate with Swedish companies and organizations based in China

 

Costs & Support

You Cover: All personal expenses 

(Including, but not limited to: Tuition, Visa, flights, travel, accommodation, insurance, daily living, etc.)

 

SwedCham Provides:

·       Visa application support

·       Assistance setting up bank accounts, Alipay, SIM cards, and more

 

Who Should Apply?

·       Swedish nationals currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program outside Mainland China

·       Fluent in Swedish and proficient in English

·       Curious about international business and cultural exchange

·       Proactive, communicative, and eager to grow both personally and professionally
