Traton aims to have a strong footprint in the Chinese commercial vehicle market in the coming years and is now making a significant and long-term investment in the Chinese market. The go to market strategy is a localized premium product, Scania, and a new sophisticated product based on a Scania, to address the Chinese customer need, are under development. The initiative will require substantial new development and design of the product to deliver a competitive product to the Chinese market. Over the coming years China will be a strategic core hub for Scania and Traton including Sales, R&D, Production and Purchasing.

Your responsibilities
The project coordinator is responsible to assess the overall status of the current ongoing activities connected to the localization project and report the improvements/deviations to the management team. He/she work in close contact with the buyers, SQAs and the process responsible, to extract, analyze and present an evaluation of the status of the project.
Main activities are connected to the evaluation of savings on direct material, CAPEX, OPEX, localization rate, supply chain status (number of suppliers, location, PNs distribution etc.), effects on supplier capacity, coordination with sales and marketing and production and logistic.
Also, the project coordinator is responsible to evaluate turnover of nominations and effect of the sourcing plan on import and export of direct material.
The candidate will develop his/her knowledge on a vast amount of topics, making him/her well prepared to develop in other branches of Purchasing and Scania in general
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Monitor and follow up the current status for the sourcing plans, nominations and KPI connected to the localization project
- Help to define the strategy on direct material regarding localization, import, in house assembly scouting of new suppliers
- Think critically and have an open mindset towards the current way of working and strategies (continuous improvement)
- Direct and coordinate tasks to responsible project managers and track deliverables for the entire project
- Structure data to improve the efficiency of day to day operations with the help of IT if needed
- Perform risk analysis and prepare mitigation actions
Who are you?
- Bachelor degree or above. Major in manufacturing, engineering or related field represents an advantage;
- Minimum 5 years working experience in automotive;
- Experience with purchasing process processes, supply chain management and Project management in general
- Competent in automotive practices, inclusive of commodity and supplier quality management
- Good understanding of IT systems to support production and supply chain management (ERP, MRP etc.)
- Adding structure and planning to work situation by defining priorities and completing the work in a systematic, efficient fashion within the required timeframe according to expectations;
- Confident with presentation and oral speech to present result and status of the different tasks
- Attention to details to ensure accuracy while working to strict deadlines;
- Proven ability to work accurately with figures and spreadsheets in combination with good computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment;
- Fluently in reading and writing English;
