Getinge welcomes visitors to the new Experience Center in Frankfurt

With the opening of the Customer Experience Center in the Gateway Gardens district of Frankfurt Airport, Getinge are taking a further step towards the future and customer proximity and reaffirming our commitment to Germany as a location, one of the most innovative medical technology destinations in Europe.

On May 9, we opened our Getinge Experience Center in Frankfurt am Main. In addition to official greetings from the Swedish Ambassador to Germany Per Thöresson and Frankfurt City Councilor Claus Möbius, among others, experts gave short presentations on the digitalization of the hospital and sustainability.

The Swedish Ambassador Per Thöresson congratulated us on the opening of the Experience Center at the Frankfurt hub and emphasized the importance of German-Swedish economic relations in his welcoming speech.

From Getinge, Mattias Perjos, President & CEO, presented current global health care challenges and how Getinge can empower customers to meet these. He was joined by Stéphane Le Roy, President Surgical Workflows, who talked about the digital transformation and how our solutions can help hospitals to significantly improve working practices, clinical outcomes and efficiency.

The keynote speakers illustrated how we are setting a good example for the future of health care with our strategy on digitalization and sustainability.

Dr. Anke Diehl, Chief Transformation Officer and Head of the Digital Transformation Unit at Essen University Medical Centre, pointed out that digital transformation does not only require technical aspects of digitalization. She explained that it also demands a cultural change, for example by reducing hierarchies and diverse, open discussions.

The keynote speech on sustainability by Prof. Dr. Claudia Bozzaro, Head of the Medical Ethics Department at the Institute for Experimental Medicine at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel, illustrated Getinge’s strategy for sustainable growth and placed it in the context of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

In the guided tour through the Experience Center, guests were able to get an impression of the showroom with its two hybrid operating rooms, an outpatient facility, two intensive care unit facilities, a central sterile supply department (CSSD) and life science solutions for digital efficiency.

“We are very proud to open the Experience Center in Frankfurt to present our solutions in their real-life environment and to teach our customers more about new and advanced technologies. Together, we can improve health care and work in the life science sector,” commented Josef Hinterberger, President DACH & BeNeLux at Getinge.

The Getinge Experience Center is the third of its kind after Tokyo (Japan) and Wayne (New Jersey, USA). It is located in the Gateway Gardens district of Frankfurt am Main, near the International Airport, and is open to visitors on weekdays. As a center for knowledge transfer and idea exchange, it includes the showroom, training facilities and offices.
