Azelio [Cleanergy] one of nine E-Prize finalists

Stockholm, July 9, 2018 | Azelio is the world’s leading provider of friendly Stirling energy solutions and is now one of the 9 nine E-prize finalists. The winner will be announced at the Go Greentech conference in Stockholm this October.

Azelio was founded in 2008 under the name Cleanergy by four Swedish entrepreneurs that shared a strong interest for environmental friendly technology and renewable energy. Specialized in and a leading supplier of Stirling engine-based renewable energy solutions, Azelio now put an even greater focus on distributed and dispatchable solar electricity, with a significant part of their on-going business in China.

The Go Greentech conference is arranged by the Swedish news paper Veckans Affärer to highlight environmental friendly and sustainable companies and solutions. During the conference the prestigious E-Prize will be announced for the 10th year in a row. This year there are three categories; Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Transportations.

Azelio is one of the the nine companies that are in the final round. They’ve been nominated in the category for Renewable Energy due to their determination to break down the last barrier to find an economically attractive and sustainable way of storing solar energy so that it can be tapped when and where it’s needed.

SSAB takes the next step towards being fossil-free

Sweden, June 20, 2018 | SSAB has together with LKAB and Vattenfall started a new joint venture, HYBRIT, that aims to replace coking coal with hydrogen. The result will be unique: the world’s first fossil-free steel-making technology, with virtually no carbon footprint.

The initiative was given a green light last winter to proceed from feasibility study to pilot plant. Construction work is now starting and the plant is expected to be ready in 2020.

By starting to build the pilot plant, where we’ll develop and scale up the technology for fossil-free steel production, we’re taking an important step forward towards SSAB’s goal of being fossil-free by 2045. We’re proud of being part of an important and challenging technological shift that can result in our solving part of the climate issue, says Martin Lindqvist, President and CEO at SSAB.

HYBRIT has the potential to reduce Sweden’s total carbon dioxide emissions by ten per cent and has global potential to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This historical technological shift has been described as crucial if Sweden is going to be able to achieve the goals set out in the Paris Agreement.

SSAB is a Nordic-based steel company that offers value added products and services developed in close cooperation with its customers to create a stronger, lighter and more sustainable world.

Swedbank ranked as one of the top 100 gender-equal companies world-wide

New York, 2018 | Every year Bloomberg compiles a list of the world’s prominent companies when it comes to gender equal environment. This year, just like last year, Swedbank is ranked as one of the top 100 companies world-wide.

The Gender Equality Index is a reference index, meaning no internal ranking is made, that Bloomberg set up in 2016 with the aim of making the market more transparent and comparative when managers and investors share information across market borders.

Swedbank’s internal work on gender equality is based on a policy which states that ”employees regardless of gender, ethnic background, religion or belief, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression or physical disability should have similar access to possibilities and career opportunities”. Following this policy clearly gives results, securing Swedbank a spot in the top 100.

Even though it’s an honour to be in the top 100 Swedbank states in a press release (in Swedish) that they will not stop their development and will continue the fight towards total equality. They believe that a diverse company is an important competitive advantage.

Since 2001, Swedbank has had a representative office in Shanghai. They provide Nordic and Baltic clients with lending and deposit-taking services as well as trade finance, treasury and payment services. The branch also offers local currency business for corporate clients operating in China (see website).

Congratulations to Swedbank!
