What a weekend! Christmas time is closing in, which means that it was time for our annual Christmas celebrations both in Shanghai and in Beijing. The celebration started in Shanghai on Friday with a traditional Christmas cocktail with 110 guests and a candlelit Lucia procession with Svenska Kören. The guests were also entertained by piano player Olavi Äikäs who played traditional Swedish Christmas songs.
During both events the guests where encouraged to participate in a photo competition where they had the opportunity to win engraved glasses from Orrefors, sponsored by our member company New Wave Group. To win you had to take a photo of yourself and post it under the hashtag #SwedChamXmas. We received a lot of wonderful contributions that you now can find under #SwedChamXmas on social media!
The Mystery Christmas Dinner in Beijing offered many surprises for the 150+ guests. Among other things a fantastic Lucia procession with 10 students from Beijing Foreign Language University under the lead of Annika Ljungwall preforming a sensational performance in Swedish that enchanted the audience and Rock the magician that stood for many laughs and surprises. Last but not least Beijing’s best live band the Hunters showed everyone a good time and invited everyone up to dance to a packed dance floor.
This could of course not have been done without help from our Chairman Lars-Åke Severin and Founder of Sino Matters, member of the Beijing Chapter Curt Bergström and our wonderful Santa Claus MC Tobias Demker who came in especially for the event. We also want to extend our thanks to our Dragon Partners; Volvo Cars, Syntronic, Finnair, Handelsbanken, Atlas Copco and Mannheimer Swartling as well as our Corporate Guests for the night; ABB, Volvo Group, Ericsson, Scania, Psu China and Sino Matters. We also want to extend our thanks to New Wave Group for sponsoring us with the engraved glasses, Arrow Factory Brewery for their own produced bottled beer, Scandic Foods for the snaps and Lily’s Collection for the 100% raw oil KLINTA candles. Photo cred goes to our wonderful photographer Alexander Lindblom.
Thank you all for participating. Hope you had, like us, a wonderful evening and see you next time!
From us all to you all,
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
